Today I went grocery shopping at Carrefour. Imagine the following: a BIG store, half of the items they sell you do not understand what they are. The explanation is in Chinese although there is text in English too, since Carrefour is a French store... Then, when you think you know where to find everything they change it until the next time you get there and once again you are forced to walk around the whole store looking for maple sirup or whatever odd thing you want to buy. The fun part is that once in a while another foreigner addresses you asking if you have any idea where to find the sirup or other item he/she cannot find either. Today I managed to find all I needed though and I found the longest piece of bread I have ever seen that was not a baguette!
The other day we bought a painting and we decided it would look good above our TV. When making that part of the house nice I decided we needed a proper shelf for the dvd player etc and since I have not found any nice Chinese one I started looking in the IKEA catalogue and found a nice furniture set which would fit the painting above it, which unfortunately did not fit the wall, so I found another one. I then went and bought it and after putting it together we realised there was no room for the painting anymore! The wall looks great though and the painting is now hanging above the fireplace. Only problem is that we no longer recognise our living room, but every morning when we go down we say: Oh, how nice it looks!!
Tomorrow the Sahlström family (Gustaf, Cissi & Hugo) are coming from Singapore to visit us, so then everyone in the family will have someone to play with.
I am experiencing a very odd thing with the computer at home. When pushing the apostrophe key ['] the Turn off the computer box appears. If you have a solution to the problem, please let me know!
